1: Prep the wall space

   Touch the tile to the mastic with a lumber scrap and a plastic mallet. Stand right back, consider the tiles and straighten any crooked people.

   Making use of a 3/16-in. trowel, scoop some mastic adhesive out from the bathtub and place it on wall (no technique included here!). Spread the mastic over the centerline, cutting in along the ledger board, vent bonnet and upper cupboards (Photo 2). After that use broad strokes to fill in the center. Support the trowel at a 45-degree direction towards the wall to distribute the mastic thin—you should be able to see the design outlines where in actuality the things regarding the trowel touch the wall.    Place synthetic tile spacers in the ledger board and countertop. This simply leaves a gap and so the tiles cannot remain directly on the countertop (you'll caulk the space later on).

   Align initial tile sheet with all the centerline, right over the spacers. Hit it onto the wall surface with your hand. If the sheet slides around and mastic comes through combined lines, you're applying the mastic also thick (take away the sheet, scrape down some mastic and retrowel). Clean on any mastic in the bones with a computer program knife.

   Eyeball a 1/16-in. combined between sheets of tile (you don't need spacers). After every two or three downloaded sheets, tap them into the mastic with a board and plastic mallet (picture 3).

   If tiles fall off the sheets, dab only a little mastic in the as well as stick them straight back in place. The sheets aren't perfectly square, so you may have to move individual tiles maintain bones lined up. Go the tiles along with your fingers or by sticking a utility knife blade into the shared and turning the blade. If an entire sheet is crooked, location a grout float within the tile and go the sheet. You should have about 20 moments after setting up the tile to fine-tune it.
