Stack Stone Veneer Adelaide

Bluestone Stacked Stone

Tiles and Veneers tend to be thin stones (generally speaking 10 - 20mm thick) fixed to walls or flooring aided by the proper glue.

Substrates:
WALL SPACE
Brick masonry is most beneficial (except tough burned and glazed).
Brick on side is not suited to unpointed rock (e.g Ledgestone) as light and moisture can penetrate the wall.
Stonesheet - BGC’s 9mm Stonesheet ( could be the only squeezed concrete sheeting we know to be ranked to address the weight of rock veneer. The main problem when staying with cement sheet is the contact involving the glue plus the board.
Tiltup - wall space must be mechanically abraded to eliminate all releasing broker.
MagRoc - magnesium oxide sheeting www.magroc.com
NOTE: - Blueboard just isn't suited to rock veneers.
Hebel features weight restrictions but are suitable for less heavy, thinner veneers under 32kg/sm.

FLOORING
Concrete is best.

Materials:
Adhesive - Just-2-Easy is an exceptional polymer glue for all substrates
Primer - Universal Primer assists in bonding glue to your substrate and it is recommended for all substrates.

Process:
Rock should be fixed in line with the Australian Standard using the Tarver solution to stick rock into substrate:
"distribute the adhesive on top to achieve the best possible technical bond. 'Rib' the adhesive with a notched 10mm trowel to obtain a uniform depth. When the trowel is held at a proper position and its notched part is drawn throughout the adhesive, it will probably offer a few synchronous ribs. The tiles should really be pressed into and relocated about the width of a rib perpendicular towards adhesive ribs. This should achieve the minimal needed coverage and bed thickness. This operation has got to be completed properly as sufficient ribs are essential to make sure an evenly distributed area of contact between tile and glue."
These ribs must be horizontal for walls.
For larger and unequal tiles we recomend your straight back of this rock is buttered with glue. This requires keying the glue in to the straight back regarding the stone in a thin layer.
Clean back of stone of dirt/dust with a moist sponge if required.
There might be some bleeding of moisture on dark colored tiles, the application of the aforementioned glues and technique should minimise this. Rock can also be presealed.
For substrates besides brick masonry additional attention must be taken.
While rock is slashed to exacting tolerances we advice a minimum joint of 3mm.
For random ashlar design a 10mm joint is employed.
For levels over 3m it is strongly recommended that additional stainless brackets are utilized.
It is vital to keep stone clean and not let glue, grout or mortar dried out regarding rock. Sponge neat and wash with clean liquid.
